My Northwest Home Opens its Bellingham Store

My Northwest Home, a new Bellingham home furnishings retailer, announces the opening of its new store in the Cordata area. My Northwest Home brings to Whatcom County a pulled-together retail experience of lighting, home accents, and furniture products that reflect Northwest living and Northwest consumer preferences.
My Northwest Home was conceived over a year ago with a simple aim: to meet consumer demand for a total home living store in Bellingham that sells a blended collection of lighting products, home accents, and furniture under a single roof.
“Recent media focus on home makeovers and home living trends are influencing demand for total home living stores. These types of stores offer coordinated lighting, accents and furniture products in a single shopping experience,” says Jeff Chance, business partner. “We focus on local consumer tastes. My Northwest Home is a regionalized, Pacific Northwest total home living store.”
My Northwest Home’s retail offerings include residential lighting from builder grade products to designer and architectural series. The store carries table lamps and pot racks and is expanding into ceilings fans.
“I’m excited about our new lighting lines. I think that we will be able to fulfill commitments to our customers’ lighting needs,” remarks Bob Putich, business partner and former owner of a chain of retail stores and car care center in Whatcom County.
The store has a fun line of home accent rugs from Company C that coordinate with linens, pillows and throws and a second line of rugs from Global Home Rugs. My Northwest Home is expanding its selection of bar stools and other home accents as it grows the store.
“You know, it’s therapeutic to have a house that feels like home” comments Chance. “Life’s daily stresses are more pronounced than a few years ago. Adding an accent piece here or there, throwing in a rug, some pillows or throws, or even improving the lighting are the simple things that make a big difference to the quality of home life. We’re all about making a house a home.”
My Northwest Home’s furniture products are currently geared toward home office, home theater, dining and casual living products. The store has modular desk and home theater systems that allow customers to mix and match according to their budget and living space. And there is a line of colorful children’s bedroom furnishings that can be coordinated with youthful rug designs.
My Northwest Home quietly opened on July 10th and is planning a grand opening in September. The store is located in the Blossom Commons Plaza at 155 W.
